Aren't superstitions fascinating?
Find out why the color red, the number 4, and...chicken wings? Are unlucky in Korea!
1. Write someone's name in red and he/she will die!
Despite how ridiculous it sounds, Koreans strictly avoid writing names in red as it might offend or scare others.

2. There is no "4th" floor in Korea.
You may occasionally find elevators with F buttons instead of an arabic number 4 as the number is considered very unlucky. This is because the number 4 is pronounced "sa," identical to the Korean pronunciation of the Chinese character for "death."
3. Whistle at night and you will summon ghosts.
Parents use this myth to make their children stay quiet!

4. Don't let your lover/spouse eat chicken wings because they will cheat on you.
It's not really known how this one came about, but Koreans use this joke quite often.

5. Don't clip your nails at night. A mouse might eat the pieces and become human.(!!!)
Guess it's another saying that parents use to teach children to clean up after themselves!

6. You may suffocate in your sleep if you leave your fan on.
It's another wives tale that has been going around for a long time and only in Korea (and it's still believed by many.) Often referred to as FAN DEATH.

7. Buy your lover a pair of shoes and they will leave you.
Although everyone knows it's just a superstition, some people still hesitate to opt for shoes when buying gifts for their lovers. Beware of gifting shoes if you're dating a Korean! (Lol)
